OUR CONNECTION TO GERT RAUTENBACH BOERDERY

Generations of care.
A fresh chapter.

Our name carries a family history in fresh produce. Our work carries it forward.

Through Gert Rautenbach Boerdery, our roots reach into three generations of Eastern Cape agriculture: citrus in the Gamtoos Valley, and a wider farming story that includes vegetables and livestock.

That perspective shapes Rautenbach Fresh today. We understand the care behind a harvest, the importance of handling and the value of relationships that continue from one season to the next.

Established in 2026, our business brings that experience to fresh boxes, everyday produce and business supply, with clear details and our sales team at your service.

KEEPING IT FRESH

Good care.
A fresher everyday.

Simple habits. Less forgotten produce.
More possibility in your everyday.

Fresh whole potatoesFRESH NOTE / 01

Unpack with a plan.

Give each item the conditions it needs. Keep whole potatoes, sweet potatoes and butternut in a cool, ventilated place away from sunlight. Store onions separately and keep them dry. Refrigerate carrots and apples in separate bags or compartments. Avoid leaving your box in a warm car or in direct sun: sorting your produce when it arrives is a useful first step.

Whole red applesFRESH NOTE / 02

Keep ripening in its place.

Ripen bananas at room temperature, away from heat. Apples and ripening bananas release ethylene, a natural gas that can shorten the quality of sensitive vegetables such as carrots and leafy greens. Give fruit and vegetables separate storage space. Plan meals and snacks around the ripest sound produce first, and check your remaining supply regularly.

Whole butternut squashFRESH NOTE / 03

Prepare well. Waste less.

Rinse produce under clean running water before eating, peeling or cutting, and use clean hands, knives and boards. Keep it separate from raw meat and seafood. Store cut produce covered in the fridge at 4°C or colder. Plan a roast, soup or lunch around what needs using next; discard anything rotten rather than trying to rescue it in a meal.

A useful guide for every product.

Open any product page for its own storage, ripening and preparation notes. Keep dry produce dry during storage, wash before use and give air room to circulate. Condition, variety, ripeness and your home’s temperature affect how long produce keeps.

GOOD QUESTIONS. USEFUL ANSWERS.

Before the box.
Beyond the basics.

We want you to feel informed, from choosing a pack to making it last at home.

How does an order work, from basket to collection?

Choose a box or individual packs and review your pack sizes, quantities and collection-price total. Add your contact details, suburb and preferred dates, then send your request. Our sales team checks availability and produce condition, confirms the final amount and agrees collection or a delivery quote with you. No payment is taken and no stock is reserved by submitting the form. Keep your reference for any follow-up.

What am I paying for, and can the contents change?

Every product has a stated minimum net produce weight, excluding packaging. Each box has a contents list so you can plan your order. Whole fruit and vegetables vary naturally in size, variety and ripeness. If a selected item is unavailable or unsuitable, our sales team discusses a proposed replacement and any price difference before the order is accepted. Your confirmed selection is the basis of your order.

What is Fresh Again? Is it an automatic subscription?

Fresh Again is a plan for one listed box on each of four agreed weekly dates. The displayed plan price covers all four boxes. Our sales team confirms the schedule, contents and availability before you pay. There is no automatic renewal or recurring debit. Individual packs remain once-off additions unless separately agreed. Contact our sales team before the agreed date if your plans change or you may miss a collection.

Where can I collect, and do you deliver?

We serve Gqeberha / Port Elizabeth. Collection is by arrangement; our sales team supplies the address and agreed time with your confirmation. To request delivery, choose the delivery-quote option and include your suburb and access requirements. We confirm the charge and timing before acceptance. For a restaurant, shop, office or larger load, our bulk enquiry builder helps you send a clear requirement.

How are Rautenbach Fresh and Gert Rautenbach Boerdery connected?

Rautenbach Fresh draws on the family farming heritage of Gert Rautenbach Boerdery, whose Eastern Cape roots span three generations and include citrus, vegetables and livestock. Established in 2026, Rautenbach Fresh carries those values into a new produce business for households and businesses. Our range brings together that farming perspective and relationships with growers and suppliers. Ask our sales team about the growing area and variety available for your order.

How do I keep my fruit and vegetables fresher for longer?

Unpack promptly and sort by storage need. Keep potatoes away from light, onions dry and separate, and carrots in the fridge. Store apples apart from carrots and leafy greens; ripen bananas at room temperature. Rinse produce under clean running water before preparing it, and refrigerate cut produce promptly. Open Keeping it fresh on each product page for specific guidance, and use the practical notes below to plan your week.

Can my restaurant, shop or office order larger quantities?

Yes. Type the required pack quantities into the bulk builder and include your business, preferred specification, frequency and destination. Its total is a retail guide; our sales team quotes volume supply according to grade, pack format, total quantity, lead time and transport. A submitted enquiry is the start of that discussion. Availability, specification and terms are agreed before the order is accepted.

What if something is wrong with my produce?

Contact the Rautenbach Fresh sales team as soon as you notice a concern. Include your reference, product name, quantity affected and a description, with clear photographs where helpful. Keep the packaging and, where safe, the affected produce while we review the issue. Let us know how it was stored after collection or delivery. Our team will assess the details and discuss an appropriate resolution. Your applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.

What is available over the next two months?

Our launch menu is planned for 19 October–19 December 2026. Potatoes, onions, carrots, butternut, sweet potatoes, apples and bananas form the core range, subject to supply and quality checks. Oranges, lemons and the Citrus Edit are conditional late-season offers through 30 November. Citrus ordering then closes on the website. Ask our sales team about summer fruit or other vegetables for a separate quote.

I grow or supply produce. How do we work together?

Use Become a supplier to introduce your farm or business, location, products, grades, pack formats, supply window and available volumes. Tell us about handling, traceability and transport to Gqeberha. Our sales team reviews the introduction and discusses a potential fit with you. Specifications, pricing, payment and any trial purchase must be agreed before dispatch. An introduction is not supplier approval or a purchase order.
